Differences between slimline and standard uPVC windows

Windows are an integral part of any home. Not only do we want them to hold great visual appeal, we want them to operate at peak efficiency so that we can save on energy costs. Every little bit helps when heating costs are going through the roof (literally). The biggest decision that a homeowner will have to face is in choosing new windows, is whether or not they want Slim or standard windows.

What is the difference between Slimline and Standard Windows?

Slimline windows are very similar to single glazed timber windows as far as profile thickness is concerned. They offer greater energy efficiency as they have more glass that is rated as A+. Standard windows on the other hand have a much larger profile, and the frames are quite a bit thicker.

Getting Value for Your Money with Quality Slimline Windows

Although the Sheerwater Glass Slimline window system may not be the cheapest it does, however, offer a good level of value for money, given it’s a UK manufactured window with a WER (window energy rating) of A+.  It is available in a large range of colours and styles.  These uPVC windows blend well with most types of exterior décor, they are slender and will not look bulky or out of place. Since they have such a slim frame design, more glass area will allow additional natural light to stream in easily. On average 12% more glass area can be achieved by choosing the Slimline window profile.

Hiring the Experts for Quality Window Installation

If you are considering new windows for your home, then it is best to have an in-home consultation. Our advisors will be able to evaluate your home and to provide an opinion on which types of windows might be best suited. They will take into account the type of home that you own, the location and, of course, your budget. They can also, if requested, bring samples so you will be able to see the difference between Slimline and standard windows before you actually make a purchasing decision.  We do have the complete range of windows and doors that we offer on display in our showroom located in Sheerwater, Woking, Surrey.

Extreme Energy Efficiency with Slimline Windows

As much as 30% of the heat loss in your home could be attributed poorly performing windows, and this is why it is so important to choose modern double-glazing if you really want to save energy. Professional window installation companies are required to adhere to minimum guidelines regarding the energy ratings for newly installed windows, and here at Sheerwater Glass, we will ensure that the job is done correctly and to the highest of standards.  Slimline windows offer a high level of security and are fabricated here in the UK to CE mark Standards and they feature the Trojan multi-point shootbolt premium locking mechanism.

The Slimline range is our most popular at Sheerwater Glass Ltd and not only looks great, but is also more efficient than a standard chunky window.
